Calculator Resources

Developed and used by clinicians at the University of Pennsylvania, our counseling scripts provide structure for patient-clinician conversations around calculator results. These scripts can be built into hospital EMRs for easy use by clinicians in their L&D workflow.

Intended as a tool for patients to view once on L&D, our visual aid describes the components that contribute to each patient's individualized c-section risk score as well as guidance for how score percentages relate to risk. This resource is available in English, Spanish, and Arabic.

Our outpatient education sheet provides additional guidance to patients preparing for induction. It can be used to introduce the concept of the risk score in the outpatient setting prior to the patient's arrival on L&D. This resource is available in English, Spanish, and Arabic.

Use this in the outpatient setting to inform your patient about the calculator, or while on labor and delivery before they are counseled on their risk score.
